We certainly have. That’s basically why we even started to dream about AKINSI - we, a team of automotive professionals and enthusiasts, came together and wondered if there is a car that would best suit the needs of the city in the future. And offer them at a price that doesn’t make you take out a loan or sell a kidney.

And hey, we don’t think we are anywhere near being the “best electric car in the world”. That has never been our goal. Our big aim is to create the best small city car that offers innovation for an affordable price, is super easy to maintain and also good for the planet at a time when it matters more than ever.

Who we are
AKINSI automotive is the partnership of Anodox Energy Systems Sweden and Jinpeng Group.

Anodox provides battery technology, added safety systems, infotainment and handling upgrades while Jinpeng group provides the platform of the vehicle including interior and exterior systems, BIW (main body) etc.

We at AKINSI provide affordable electric vehicles for private customers, fleet buyers and mobility services such as ride hailing, car sharing and last mile delivery.

Essentially, we create opportunities for businesses to minimise costs and maximise utility without compromising on quality or longevity of the cars OR the planet - how cool would that be for your company?

What we want to achieve
Our end goal is to become one of the most sustainable OEMs in the world. If that’s a new term for you, worry not - OEMs stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Oh, and by sustainable we really mean doing our best to fulfil the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being.

How we want to get there
You might ask - but how do you plan to become one of the top sustainable OEMs? We’re glad you asked!

• Firstly, our vehicles are lightweight and use way less materials than what the automotive industry is used to. That also means less waste!
• Secondly, we are sourcing a fully recyclable battery pack for our cars to reduce the waste that comes from single-use batteries used in EVs until now.
• Thirdly, we remain ever mindful of our effects on the environment even in our day-to-day operations - from choosing recycled materials in our offices to thinking twice before printing marketing materials.

We take veeeeery many steps to try and reach our goals, but here are the ones that we wish more companies would try and do, too:

The greenest car battery
The technology used in AKINSI Alpha cars drastically decreases the total environmental footprint of the car as well as the overall cost. The battery itself contains zero cobalt and offers much higher degrees of safety and recyclability. Wouldn’t it be awesome if every car in the world used replaceable and fully recyclable batteries?

Keeping things simple
Our mantra is to keep things simple. From reducing complexity in the purchasing process to making vehicles that are easy to service and maintain, we are always looking for ways to take the friction out of buying and owning an electric vehicle. Because let’s be real - who needs more complexity in their life right now? Certainly not you!

Green innovation is our middle name
Our vision for the future of mobility is free from fossil fuels, free from unethical supply chains, and freely available to those who need it regardless of their means. This vision guides our R&D efforts, from LFP battery tech to autonomous vehicle development. Everything we do is intertwined with this ideology of using innovation to create a better world.

Now that you know more about us, it’s time to announce the most exciting part - the AKINSI Alpha model is coming to Europe in March 2023!

We are on track to first make it available in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Luxemburg and Greece with plans to expand across Europe throughout rest of 2023.
